basis voor de serie ‘footprints’ is klei.

hein maakt gebruik van het na droging van klei ontstaan van karakteristieke krimpsporen.

de verse, schone klei heeft hij uit de waddenzee geschept.

de klei is aangebracht op ‘ecoboard’, panelen die bestaan uit geperst stro dat hard is, niet kromtrekt en volledig duurzaam is.

de klei behoudt zijn natuurlijke uitstraling door middel van een lijm die in de loop der jaren steeds harder wordt.

naast klei gebruikt hij ook andere materialen zoals ijzerroest.
